The research carried out within the framework of BIG4SPORTS has shown that good governance in sports organizations is a crucial condition to be fulfilled in order to reassure public and private sponsors and thus generate external funding resources.
BIG4SPORTS platform offers a system to measure the degree of good governance of your sports organization through a self-evaluation process. In fact, by completing the following self-assessment, you will be able to position your organization in light of selected international of good governance standards.
How? After accessing the evaluation, and conducting the assessment for each of the good governance criteria, the implementation has been set through 3 levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold.A "none level" box exists if no measures have yet been implemented within your organization. This self-assessment covers 32 criteria of good governance classified into 3 categories (Organization of your governance, functioning of your governance and Policies relating to the protection of sport integrity).
And after? Once the different criteria have been assessed, submitting your Evaluation will allow you to know the level of good governance of your organization (Excellent level, Very satisfactory level, Satisfactory level, Unsatisfactory level).
Then, if you wish, you can access:
- the Guide of Good Practices to help your organization improve/ implement certain criteria of good governance
- the BIG4SPORTS certification process directed at obtaining a "BIG4SPORTS Good Governance" certificate that you can place on your website and which will inform the sponsors of your degree of good governance.
The aim of this evaluation is to assist sports organizations to identify existing good practices to improve their governance structures and mechanisms allowing the development of strong and longstanding relationships with sponsors.
